Flight of the Hornbill (Sunbeam)

Picture this: A balmy, tropical morning when the sun is out in full glory, the neighbour’s banana palms are swaying in the gentle breeze and you lose track of time watching the birds fly past your window. How lucky that we get to experience this feeling through the eyes of an artist? Rachita has always been fascinated by the variety of birds she spots around her studio in Moira and a hornbill has been a particular favourite. Combined with her toddler’s love for bananas, this pattern was born. We love that it also features not just the state’s bird life and flora but also the quintessential yellow colour that’s so synonymous with Goan homes.
